The Town of Niagara will host its second annual "Pride in the Park" event in celebration of Independence Day, from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Lockport Road. The event will feature live performances by five different bands throughout the day.
The lineup includes:
  • Noon-1 p.m. - Brothers of Invention
  • 1:30-3 p.m. - Strictly Hip
  • 3:30-5 p.m. - JJ Swing
  • 5:30-7 p.m. - The Thurman Brothers
  • 7:30-9:45 p.m. - Cock Robin
Also featured will be the town's annual American Graffiti car show, a variety of food trucks and drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and a fireworks display at dusk, (around 9:45-10 p.m.) to end the night.
"We're optimistic that it will be as good as last year and maybe better," Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace said. He added, "The goal is always to be better and bigger and more organized and more people-friendly and try and give people a variety of different things they can do here in the park. And that's the point. Town of Niagara doesn't have a main street. This is our main street."
