The Grand Island Father's Day Lawn Mower Race, Kevin's 5K Walk/10K Run & Classic Car Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at 3957 West River Road between Long and Sunset roads.
Since the Lawn Mower Race began in 1978, it has raised over $30,000 on behalf of local charities. In the past six years, funds raised from the event have been donated to the Grand Island Relay For Life in its support of the American Cancer Society.
In addition to the greatest spectacle in lawn mowing, the event will also feature music, food vendors, a variety of children's activities, and a garage sale hosted by the Grand Island Lions Club. Between 300 and 500 riders, participants, supporters and volunteers are expected at the event.
