Members of the police turned out Saturday to serve as "celebrity buddies" at a Miracle League ballgame.

The buddies help the Miracle League players at bat, on the base paths and in the field.

Event coordinator Mike Hilliker, a retired Erie County Sheriff's Office deputy, said groups represented Saturday included: Buffalo Police, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Erie County District Attorney's Office, Cheektowaga Police Department, Niagara Falls Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Grand Island Police Department, New York State Parks Police, FBI, and New York State Courts. In all, about 100 people took part in the annual event.
