Ransomville Business of the Year

Patti's Cut Above

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Patti's Cut Above as the recipient of the Ransomville Business of the Year Award. The Ransomville Business and Professional Association assists the chamber in providing a business nomination that has showed dedication and service to the Ransomville community. Patti's Cut Above has been a strong business in Ransomville for the past 17 years with many more to come.

Owner Patti Lacey, pictured, has moved her business to three locations in the hamlet of Ransomville during her years in business, settling in at the current location at 2568 Youngstown-Lockport Road. The salon is in an historic building, with curious visitors often stopping by asking about the history and taking pictures.

The staff consists of Lacey, her full-time employee Andrea Linton as well as Mike. The salon wouldn't be complete without the help of "Mike," a local Ransomville celebrity of sorts, whom Lacey has taken under her wing and watches out for.

He takes out the garbage, sweeps the floor and completes other odd jobs that need to be done around the salon. He makes Lacey's and Linton's job easier by helping out.

Patti's Cut Above is a full service hair salon for men, women and children. Lacey and Linton are trained in coloring, perms, highlighting, cuts, formal updos, and also provide waxing and tanning services. Walk-ins are accepted.

Having a hair salon in a small community has its challenges, but Patti's Cut Above long-term presence in Ransomville has proved it provides quality and affordable service. The clients and community are loyal and have been great to the business. Lacey is always glad to see new faces come into the hamlet from events such as the weekly summer concerts, Ransomville Speedway and more.

There are many organizations that Patti's Cut Above supports. There always seems to be a fundraiser or benefit to help out, and supporting local activities is something that is important to Lacey. She will always consider donating when the money is raised to stay in the community.

There are some fundraising opportunities she will always support, such as programs at the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co., as "they are one of the pillars of the community, run by volunteers." Lacey also supports events at and for Ransomville Speedway. There is so much community spirit in Ransomville and Patti's Cut Above is happy to be a part of it.

Lacey is thankful and honored to have been chosen as the Ransomville Business of the Year. She has raised her family (a daughter and son) in this community and is grateful for all the support she has received. In her spare time, Patti spends time with her husband, Dan, and 16-month-old granddaughter.

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce along with the Ransomville Business and Professional Association proudly congratulate Patti's Cut Above as the 2014 Ransomville Business of the Year.
