Niagara Catholic Jr./Sr. High School celebrated its legacy, as well as the storied history of St. Mary's, Bishop Duffy and Madonna, as part of Alumni Weekend 2013.
Weekend activities included a Friday night social in the high school cafeteria, where alums, friends, family and donors were treated to hearty refreshments, music and mementos from years past.
On Saturday morning, the second annual 5K run/1.5K walk was held just outside of the high school. A post-race party followed.
That night, NC honored notable alums for academic and athletic achievement during a special awards dinner inside The Como Restaurant. Bill Bradshaw (Duffy Class of 1965) and the Hon. Diane Vitello (NC, '80) were named distinguished alums. Dyrell Dolson (NC, '08) and the 1970 Duffy football team were inducted into the Niagara Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame. Dr. Joseph Bax (Duffy, '65), his wife, Pat, and their six children (all NC grads) were named "Legacy Family."
On Sunday, guests had breakfast at NC with Ron Buggs, the returning high school principal and new president.
Monday was the annual Marty Violante Memorial Golf Classic. The event, which took place at Niagara Frontier Country Club, was in honor of Anthony Guthrie Sr.
