The Wheatfield Farmers Market will reopen June 12 and run Wednesdays through Oct. 9, still outside of Town Hall, but relocated to the front parking lot to provide more visibility and convenience for both the vendors and clientele.
Hours of operation this season will be 3:30 to 7 p.m. Wheatfield Town Hall is located at 2800 Church Road, off Ward Road near Niagara Falls Boulevard.
Several special market days are planned, including Christmas In July, Kids Day and Oktoberfest. Dates are yet to be announced.
Coupons, available in the Tribune, will entitle shoppers to participate in the weekly drawing for vendor-donated products, baskets and local business gift certificates.
Town Clerk Kathy Harrington-McDonell reported that between 12 and 15 vendors are expected at the first market, and "as local produce comes in there will be additional vendors.
A new vendor this year will be White Linen Tea House from Shawnee Road, offering various teas, coffees, scones, oils and vinegars. Wheatfield vendors back for another year include Zuch Farms, pictured, with fresh produce and Tina's Cheese, also pictured, in photos from the 2012 season by Walt Bissett.
Returning farms offering fresh produce also include Prudom Farms, DDMJ Farms and Susice Farms, plus there will be organic honey products from Hens Honey Bee Farm.
Among other returning vendors will be Bonard's, providing a variety of flavored teas and coffees (including iced); The Kernel offering popcorn; Antonio's Bakery, offering breads and baked goods; Inge Carrier with crafts; Schwann's with frozen food.
