The Grand Island Rotary Club recently presented a $500 donation to the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island to help offset expenses during the busy summer months.
While many people associate food insecurity with the holiday season, the need often increases during the summer when school is out and children no longer have access to free or reduced-price school meals. At the same time, donations typically decline, making summer one of the most challenging times for local food assistance organizations. The Rotary Club's contribution will help the Neighbors Foundation continue providing food and support to Grand Island families in need throughout the season.
