Erie County Sheriff's Office reports for July 10, 2026

The following Grand Island response activity occurred Saturday, June 27, to Friday, July 3, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. ECSO deputies responded to 2,151 complaints among its county districts of 15 municipalities, including Grand Island, for the week of this report.

This included 361 premises checks, 17 neighborhood patrols, 195 vehicle/traffic stops, 265 calls to assist other agencies, and 36 arrest warrants served. In addition, ECSO dispatch reported several fireworks-related complaints received from multiple towns on the night of July 3.

The following is a small sampling of the noteworthy incidents on Grand Island.

Saturday, June 27

•Harvey Road, disturbance/other – Patrol responded to a disturbance where two individuals became aggressive with each other while playing football. The complainant had cuts on his hand and reported a mark on his neck but declined first aid.

•E. River Road, fire investigation – Patrol responded to a residential fire that reportedly started in the garage and spread into the residence. Nobody was in the home, and pets were removed prior to patrol’s arrival. The investigation was referred to the fire investigation unit.

•Baseline Road, suspicious incident – A resident of Baseline Road showed patrol a doorbell video of an unknown individual walking up to his front door and looking for a key. The subject then left on foot.

Sunday, June 27

•Limestone Court, larceny from vehicle – Items were taken from vehicles parked at multiple addresses on Limestone Court.

•Stonebridge Road, larceny, attempt – Individuals were reported to be trying to break into vehicles on Stonebridge Road.

Tuesday, June 30

•Staley Road, accident, PDO – A tractor-trailer backed into a vehicle. Patrol provided each operator with an accident exchange form.

•Tracey Lane/Majestic Woods Drive, UUMV – Multiple vehicles on the listed streets were taken from residences during the overnight hours.

Wednesday, July 1

•Stony Point Road, accident, hit and run – Patrol issued a ticket for leaving the scene of an incident without reporting after a vehicle struck multiple mailboxes and left the scene.
