Project supported through NYS Downtown Revitalization Initiative

Press release

The City of Niagara Falls will conduct the second public meeting for the public plaza and Main Street streetscape improvements project from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at the LaSalle Preparatory School Auditorium, 7436 Buffalo Ave. There will be a brief presentation about the project followed by an informal and interactive open house.

The Main Street project is being funded by the New York State Department of State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI).

The public plaza and Main Street streetscape improvements project is focused on enhancing walkability, connectivity, and sense of place within the business and bridge districts. The project will explore coordinated improvements along Main Street, the creation of a public plaza on Cleveland Avenue, and enhanced pedestrian connections to Niagara Falls State Park.

This public meeting will help the project team, led by Fisher Associates, better understand concerns, issues and opportunities in the project area, and ensure the final design reflects the needs and desires of the community.

The community can learn more about the project and future public engagement activities at https://niagarafallsusa.org/government/city-departments/planning-and-environmental/
