The family of Dr. Robert L. Bull Jr. is sad to share the news of his passing on May 23, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Dr. Bull was born in Eden on May 25, 1955, to a loving family that instilled in him the values of friendship, hard work and service. A gifted and devoted physician, Dr. Bull will long be remembered for his dedication and advocacy for the best care for his patients – both locally and around the world. His medical career includes many leadership positions, accolades and awards, and service (both medical and otherwise) to those in the most need.
Outside of his notable career, Dr. Bull enjoyed art, gardening, much international travel, caring for a community cat and babysitting family dogs when needed, and was an accomplished classical pianist.
He was a true giant of men and will be missed by many – locally, nationally and internationally.
Dr. Bull is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Marian Bull. He is survived by his partner for over 40 years, Lonnie Arnold; siblings Kathleen (late Dennis) Lell, Jocelyn (late James) Tragarz, Barbara (Marsha Shuler) Bull, Douglas (Darlene) Bull and Marlene (James) Lamparelli, as well as many nieces, nephews, godchildren and dear friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Rhoney Funeral Home, 901 Cayuga St., Lewiston. Everyone is invited to attend Dr. Bull’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at St. Joseph University Parish, 3269 Main St., Buffalo. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 66 East Main St., Hamburg.
