The Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island held a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Ellden's Grill & Banquet on Sunday, March 30.
Many thanks to Ellden’s/New City River Oaks and their staff for providing the venue and all they did in hosting the breakfast; as well as Frank and Kathy Kovacs, who made a donation to cover additional costs. Also appreciated are all who attended the breakfast to enjoy the food, fellowship and to support a great cause.
The number of clients in need continues to grow for our neighbors on Grand Island, and the proceeds of this breakfast will go into the general fund to fulfill those needs.
The Neighbors Foundation collects and provides nonperishable food, and the proceeds from this event will be used to purchase gift cards to provide the clients with a means of obtaining perishable items.
There are large food drives throughout the year, with the next big drive taking place Saturday, May 10, when the U.S. Postal Service carriers hold the “Stamp Out Hunger” drive.
If you would like to make a direct donation, they are accepted throughout the year by going to the website www.gineighbors.org or calling 716-775-7998.
Neighbors Foundation Vice President Larry Slovick, Chris and Sandy Beyer, and Mary Slovick enjoy the breakfast – and celebrate the Slovick’s 40th wedding anniversary.
