Fallsview Casino Press Release
Internationally acclaimed vocal group 98 Degrees will perform on Friday, June 27, at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino. Known for their smooth harmonies and chart-topping hits, this will be one performance that will surely heat up the stage.
Tickets for 98 Degrees go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, through ticketmaster.ca.
“98 Degrees is such a fun and nostalgic boy band from the late 1990s, whose music has resonated with fans for decades. We can’t wait to bring their signature sound and catchy pop songs to the stage this summer,” said Cathy Price, vice president of marketing and resort operations at Niagara Casinos.
Formed in 1996, 98 Degrees comprises brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, and Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre. Unlike many of their contemporaries, they came together independently, driven by a shared passion for R&B and pop music. The group achieved significant success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, selling over 10 million records worldwide. Their repertoire includes eight Top 40 singles in the U.S., with memorable tracks "The Hardest Thing," "I Do (Cherish You)" and "Because of You."
In 2023, 98 Degrees released a new holiday single, "The First Noel," which charted in the Billboard Top 10, reaffirming their enduring appeal. They are currently working on a forthcoming studio album set for release in 2025.
R&B meets rock: The O’Jays and Gin Blossoms heat up OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino
Summer continues to sizzle at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino with two more performances added to our summer lineup. Multi-Platinum rockers Gin Blossoms are heading back to the stage on July 23, as fans can once again hear their signature alternative rock anthems in Niagara Falls. Then, on Aug. 9, R&B legends The O’Jays will deliver their timeless hits for one final time as they embark on the “Love Train The Final Tour.” Tickets for both performances go on sale Friday through ticketmaster.ca.
“From the alternative rock anthems of Gin Blossoms to the soulful legacy of The O’Jays, these performances are a perfect addition to our exciting summer lineup, offering fans incredible live music experiences,” Price said.
Gin Blossoms became local legends in Tempe, Arizona, in the late ’80s, with their jangle-pop sound evolving during the rise of grunge and hair bands. Their breakthrough album, “New Miserable Experience,” produced chart-topping hits “Hey Jealousy,” “Allison Road” and “Found Out About You,” selling over 5 million copies. “Til I Hear It From You” and “Follow You Down” solidified their success, with the former spending six weeks as Canada’s No. 1 hit.
After a brief hiatus in the early 2000s, the band reunited in 2001 and quickly became one of the busiest touring acts. Their 2006 album “Major Lodge Victory” earned rave reviews and chart success, followed by the release of “No Chocolate Cake” in 2010. Still going strong, Gin Blossoms have sold over 10 million records and continue to perform to passionate crowds. With their blend of pop, rock, folk and country, they remain one of the most in-demand live bands from the ’90s. Fans can expect new material as the band continues to thrive well into its third decade.
Legendary R&B icons The O'Jays will bring over 60 years of electrifying performances to the stage as they embark on their final tour. Featuring original members Eddie Levert Sr. and Walter Williams Sr., who have been performing together since childhood, The O'Jays helped define the “Sound of Philadelphia.” Their chart-topping hits “Backstabbers,” “Love Train” and “For the Love of Money” are timeless classics that shaped generations. With 10 Gold albums, nine Platinum albums, and 10 No. 1 hits, their legacy is solidified.
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005, and awarded BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009, The O’Jays’ influence on R&B is undeniable. Their final tour promises to be a celebration of a remarkable career that has made the “Love Train” an enduring force in music.
