New York Power Authority Press Release
The New York Power Authority announced its Western New York fishing facilities, including the fishing pier at the base of the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant, will open for the season on Saturday, March 29.
The fishing piers located near Upper Mountain Fire Co. at the Lewiston Reservoir and at the water intakes along the upper Niagara River will also open for the season on March 29.
Additionally, the fish-cleaning station and handicap access elevator at the dam site will be available when temperatures remain above freezing; however, the elevator will be out of service through April 4. NYPA will close the fishing sites in the event of sub-freezing temperatures or the presence of icy conditions.
Parking to access the fishing site at the base of the power plant is available near the road that leads to pier.
Seasonal NYPA fishing facilities are admission free and open daily, weather-permitting.
