Niagara History Center Press Release

The popular Shamus Restaurant in Lockport will host “History Center Night,” to benefit the Niagara History Center, on Tuesday, Feb. 18. In addition to savoring Shamus’ famous cuisine, guests will enjoy a pleasant, history-themed table activity called “The Big Picture,” which will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of the Erie Canal.

At the conclusion of the evening, Shamus will make a generous donation to the History Center.

“Shamus has been a supporter of the History Center for many years,” said James Lester, the History Center’s executive director. “ ‘History Center Night’ is just one of the ways in which Ann Murphy and her staff have been helping us inform the public about Niagara County’s past.”

Guests can make reservations by calling Shamus at 716-433-9809. The restaurant is located in a 19th century brick house at 98 West Ave., Lockport.
