The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will offer a free education program about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Lewiston Public Library, 305 S. Eighth St.
“Today, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are their unpaid caregivers,” said Courtney Sipes, director of community outreach for the WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. “The WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association invites Niagara County residents to join us for a brief, informative program to learn about the impact of the disease and ways you can join the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.”
The program will also cover the difference between Alzheimer's and other dementias, risk factors, stages of the disease, and Alzheimer's Association resources for care and support. Individuals can register online at bit.ly/AwarenessAlz25FEB or by calling 800-272-3900.
