Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, R-C-Niagara Falls, has been appointed as the ranking minority member of the Assembly standing committee on codes for the 2025 legislative session. Additionally, he will continue to serve on the committees on economic development, ethics and guidance, labor, tourism, and veterans' affairs. These key assignments position him as a leading voice in shaping policies that impact public safety, economic growth, government accountability, workforce development, tourism, and support for veterans across New York.

As the ranking minority member on the codes committee, Morinello will play a critical role in reviewing and shaping legislation related to New York’s criminal justice system. The committee oversees laws on criminal procedure, sentencing guidelines, firearms regulations, and judicial discretion. Morinello will focus on ensuring that public safety remains a top priority, addressing issues such as bail reform, crime prevention, and fair and effective law enforcement policies.

“I am honored to serve as the ranking member on the codes committee and to take part in these important discussions,” Morinello said. “New Yorkers deserve laws that balance public safety with justice, and I will work to ensure that our communities are protected and that our legal system operates effectively and fairly.”
