FeedMore WNY Press Release

This National Peanut Butter Day, FeedMore WNY is calling on its community partners to “spread the love” by donating unopened jars of peanut butter to support our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Peanut butter is the most requested item by FeedMore WNY’s partner pantries, as well as a staple menu item of FeedMore WNY’s “BackPack Program” serving children in need. That is why FeedMore WNY will run its “Spread the Love Peanut Butter Drive” throughout the entire month of February, with a goal of collecting 10,000 pounds of peanut butter.

Community members may drop off donations at FeedMore WNY’s warehouse, located at 91 Holt St., Buffalo, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

People also have the option of donating peanut butter online to be shipped directly to FeedMore WNY through https://yougivegoods.com/peanutbutter2025.

Individuals, schools, corporations or community groups looking to organize a peanut butter drive for FeedMore WNY are encouraged to contact Community Engagement and Events Specialist Betsy Campbell at [email protected] or call 716-822-2005, ext. 3090.

“Peanut butter is an incredibly valuable food donation. It is shelf stable, packed with protein, and a fan favorite for all ages,” Betsy Campbell said. “We are always in need of donations of peanut butter to help stock the shelves of our partner food pantries and fill the bags of food distributed to children in our ‘BackPack Program,’ which is why the annual ‘Spread the Love Drive’ is so important. We welcome all varieties – creamy, crunchy, a peanut butter-jelly combination, and even other nut butters or nut alternatives are greatly appreciated! All donations will help us reach our goal of 10,000 pounds to help alleviate food insecurity in Western New York.”

More information about “Spread the Love” can be found at www.feedmorewny.org/spread-the-love.
