Opportunity to learn more about becoming a NYS Park Police officer
Press Release
The Niagara Region New York State Park Police will hold a series of open houses to accept applications for patrol officer positions and share what it’s like to be a member of the Park Police. The events will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, and Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Niagara Region Park Police headquarters, located at 570 Whirlpool St., Niagara Falls.
Interested attendees will be able to talk to officers, view a video about Park Police service, tour the headquarters and submit applications on the spot. At this time, applicants are welcome to apply without taking the civil service test until after being appointed. This is a change in typical policy, where a test is usually required first.
Applications for the Park Police are being accepted until Feb. 28, and can be found at New York State Park Police: Employment – NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, along with more information about the job. An academy is expected to start in October.
The New York State Park Police is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified applicants to apply.
