National Football League Press Release

The National Football League and FedEx Corp. announced today Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens), Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles), Ja’Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals) and Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit Lions) are the finalists for the 2024 FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year.

In the weeks leading up to Super Bowl LIX, fans have the chance to cast their vote for any two players they feel had the season’s best Air & Ground performances. Today through Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. ET, fans can cast their votes at nfl.com/fedex, via an X poll on the @NFL official handle, or the NFL mobile app.

For the first time in the 22-year history of the program, the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year Awards feature expanded positional eligibility and will now honor the two best offensive players from a pool of all quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends in the NFL. A newly eligible player for this year’s awards is Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase, who won FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week twice in 2024. In total, 16 newly eligible wide receivers and tight ends were nominated for FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week throughout the 2024 NFL season.

Fans can help celebrate these standout athletes by voting for the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year and deciding the two winners.

During the 2024 NFL regular season, FedEx once again proudly worked with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to identify Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country to receive donations to support needs-based scholarships through the 2025-26 school year. Each week of the regular season, a $2,000 donation was made in the name of each winning player (for a total of $4,000).

With the crowning of the new FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year, FedEx will donate an additional $20,000 to the HBCU choice of the winning players. Just like the regular season donations, the $40,000 donation will help support needs-based scholarships. For the year, more than $100,000 will be granted among select HBCUs to support student scholarships, and since beginning its work with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in 2021, the FedEx Air & Ground Awards program has committed over $400,000 toward HBCU scholarships.

In total, the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year Awards program has donated over $1,000,000 to various nonprofits, charities, hospitals and other humanitarian organizations.

FedEx will announce the 2024 FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year at the 14th annual NFL Honors. The primetime awards special will air nationally on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX and NFL Network from Saenger Theatre in New Orleans. Fans can also stream NFL Honors on NFL+.
