SUNY Niagara Press Release

For the third consecutive year, SUNY Niagara will be the site of the SUNY Cannabis Conference, which will take place Jan. 13-14. This event advances education, fosters professional networking, and informs the public about the opportunities within the cannabis industry. The conference includes sessions on medical cannabis research, plant genetics, sustainable practices, and culinary cannabis innovations.

“This event is unique,” said SUNY Niagara Horticulture Program Coordinator Melissa Moore. “Legalization has helped destigmatize cannabis, leading to greater mainstream appreciation of its intersections with medicine, agriculture, cooking, retail, marketing and government. The SUNY Cannabis Conference has established itself as a leading source of content on all these fronts.”

The first day of the conference will focus on culinary applications of cannabis with programming at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute in Niagara Falls from 11 a.m. to 7:30 pm. The events will include a gourmet-infused lunch and dinner at Savor restaurant.

The conference will move to the SUNY Niagara campus in Sanborn on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Day two of the event will bring together successful industry leaders, medical professionals, higher education representatives, and individuals seeking to learn more about the cannabis industry.

Tuesday also will feature two keynote addresses. Pioneering cannabis cultivator Ed Rosenthal, whom High Times magazine once dubbed the “Guru of Ganja,” will present “Cannabis History from the Lens of a Legacy.” Healer.com co-founder Dr. Dustin Sulak, who wrote the first foundational text on the clinical use of cannabis, will present “Cannabis Dosing and Product Selection Simplified.”

“We are excited to once again host the largest cannabis conference in the state of New York. Even with expanding the size of our event, the vendor hall has sold out and ticket sales are on track to do the same,” said Brian Michel, SUNY Niagara’s assistant vice president of economic development. “Interest in cannabis continues to grow as the industry begins to gain maturity in New York. The speakers, sessions and sponsors for the 2025 conference reflect the widest variety of topics yet.”

Event sponsors include Ayrloom, Biotrax, Cannabis Workforce Initiative, Satisfied Mind, Percise, Dime Industries, 716 Dank, The Homegrower’s Championship, House of Sacci, Myers Security and Vukaya AI.

Tickets for each day of the 2025 SUNY Cannabis Conference are available now. Visit the conference website at www.niagaracc.suny.edu/cannabisconference for more information.
