Residents at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s (NFMMC) Schoellkopf Health Center, a trusted home for skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care, were treated last weekend to a morning of festive cheer and heartfelt joy, thanks to a special visit from the Niagara Falls-based Power City Bruins U10 hockey team and Power City Athletics U10 baseball team.

The young athletes, accompanied by their coaches and parents, brought holiday spirit to Schoellkopf Health Center by singing Christmas carols, playing bingo, and sharing holiday treats, filling the halls with laughter and creating lasting memories for all.

“It was truly a wonderful morning for our residents,” said Marisa Prokop, administrator at Schoellkopf Health Center. “Seeing the kids interact with our residents and brighten their day with songs, games and cookies was heartwarming. Events like this showcase our commitment to fostering meaningful connections and creating a vibrant, joyful environment for our residents. We are incredibly grateful to the teams, coaches and parents for making this special visit possible.”

Power City Bruins, part of the Bud Bakewell Ice Hawks youth hockey association, and the Power City Athletics U10 baseball team, part of the 16 Athletics travel baseball organization, are made up of talented players across the Western New York region. Their visit highlighted the importance of community and connection among generations, while spreading holiday cheer to both the residents and staff at Schoellkopf.
