Lewiston-Porter High School senior Ava Wylke, center, was recognized with the Jr. Community Quarterback Award for her work in raising awareness and funds for The Ronald McDonald House in Buffalo. Through her fundraiser at Queen B’s Cottage – and from donations from family, friends, local businesses, and the kindness of complete strangers – she raised $5,150.
Ava’s achievement was celebrated the Buffalo Bills' fourth annual Community Honors Awards.
The Ronald McDonald House noted, “During the ceremony, Michelle Roberts, vice president of the Buffalo Bills, acknowledged our organization for nominating Ava, and a heartfelt video showcased her impactful work at our house and fundraisers. Dion Dawkins, (nominee for) the Walter Payton Award, expressed in his speech how proud he was of Ava for leading by example and inspiring the next generation of community leaders.
“It was an incredible evening honoring Ava's well-deserved accomplishment among 200 business and community leaders!”
