Trotters participating in the 129th annual YMCA Turkey Trot can begin to pick up their pre-race packets on Monday, Nov. 25, at the Independent Health YMCA, located at 150 Tech Drive in Amherst.
Participants in the annual trot are encouraged to pick up their packets Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Race day packet pickup is also available from 7-8:30 a.m. at the Delaware YMCA located at 2564 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. Race participants are strongly encouraged to pick up their packets prior to the race date. Trotters are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to support the YMCA’s annual food drive with FeedMore WNY.
Buffalo’s historic Thanksgiving Day tradition, the YMCA Turkey Trot, begins at 9 a.m. Nov. 28 at the corner of Delaware and Tacoma avenues in North Buffalo.
The YMCA Turkey Trot attracts over 14,000 participants and spectators along Delaware Avenue and the streets surrounding the course. The event serves as YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s largest fundraising event and proceeds will support Y programs that empower youth, improve community health, and ensure access for all.
There are approximately 500 spots remaining for this year’s event.
