Celebrate holiday season in Sanborn

The Sanborn Historical Society and the Sanborn Business and Professional Association announce the following events.

•The Sanborn Area Historical Society regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.26, at the Farm Museum at 2660 Saunders Settlement Road (Route 31). The speaker series program continues with "Women of the Civil War" by Don Dwyer, with songs and stories of the American Civil War.

This event is free – donations are accepted – and refreshments will be served.

•A caroling sign-along will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the church building of the Sanborn Farm Museum, 2660 Sanders Settlement Road, Lewiston. The event is open to society members and guests. Hors d’oeuvres and eggnog will be served.

•A “Christmas at the Farm” holiday party for children ages 2-12 years old will take place Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15. Featured both days will be gift-giving with Santa, who will arrive in the museum’s 1800s-era sleigh and visit from noon-3 p.m.; performances by the Balloon Guy from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; craft projects; a coloring contest; a Santa Shop for holiday gift-buying; a holiday basket auction from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and lunch available for purchase at 11:30 a.m.

•A “Light Up Sanborn” event, with Don Dwyer performing, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the hall on the museum grounds. Cookies, snacks and refreshments will be served.
