As the holiday season approaches, the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island is once again rallying to help local families facing food insecurity. The all-volunteer organization, which operates a confidential food pantry for Grand Island residents in need, is placing donation barrels at numerous community locations throughout November and December. These food collection bins are ready to receive nonexpired, nonperishable items, allowing community members to make meaningful contributions to help brighten the holidays for their neighbors.

“We’re grateful to the Grand Island businesses and organizations supporting this effort,” said Gene Runions, Neighbors Foundation board member. “With their help and the generosity of our community, we can ensure our neighbors have a season filled with warmth and care.”

Food donation locations include:

•Century 21

•Dollar General (both locations)

•Grand Island Dance Studio

•Grand Island Fire Co.

•Grand Island Memorial Library

•Grand Island Post Office

•Grand Island Town Hall

•HUNT Real Estate

•Hybrid Defense

•Island Body Works

•Island Kids North, Island Kids South, and Kiddos Korners day care centers

•Pickleball Island

•Pinnacle Travel Staffing
