Niagara Pride is excited to announce the winners of the 2024-25 GSA Grant awards. The agency offers two separate grant programs, designed to be used to develop educational programming that affirms LGBTQIA+ students and helps create a more diverse and inclusive environment at the school. One of the grants focuses on Niagara County, while the other is intended to provide funding to the more rural counties of WNY.
•Niagara County GSA Grants program, a $1,000 grant to a Gay Straight Alliance (also known as a Gender Sexuality Alliance) at a Niagara County middle or high school, was awarded to:
√ Barker Junior and Senior High School
√ North Tonawanda Senior High School
√ Starpoint Middle School
•Rural WNY GSA Grants program, a $1,000 grant to a GSAs in Alleghany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties, was awarded to:
√ Cattaraugus Little Valley High School
√ Pavilion Central School District
Beginning Dec. 1, Niagara Pride will offer mini grants to middle school and high school GSAs across all eight WNY counties to advance local community efforts to address and prevent bullying of LGBTQ+ youth. Mini grant funds are intended to support GSA clubs in designing and carrying out a project in their school and/or community to achieve this goal. Niagara Pride will award up to 20 GSA mini grants ranging from $250 to $500 per award. For more information, go to www.niagarapride.org/gsaminigrants.
