SUNY Niagara will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, on the Sanborn campus. The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road. The event is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will include keynote remarks by New York State Senate Minority Leader Robert G. Ortt. Ortt, who represents the 62nd Senate District, has sat on the Senate Committee for Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs. A former New York Army National Guard enlisted, he received a Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal and Combat Infantryman's Badge.
"SUNY Niagara is honored to recognize and thank our veterans for their selfless service to our nation. We deeply appreciate their sacrifices and the invaluable contributions they've made to our community," SUNY Niagara Veterans Services Coordinator Seth Lamar said. "This ceremony is a small token of our gratitude and commitment to supporting our veterans as they transition to civilian life."
Refreshments will be served immediately after the ceremony in the Notar Administration Building lobby on the Sanborn campus.
