On Monday, Nov. 11, The Town of Niagara Lions Club and the Town of Niagara Helping Hands will again honor our veterans with a Veterans Day ceremony. The event commences at 11 a.m. promptly, and will be held at the Town of Niagara Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Joe Rotella Way (Lockport Road).
The ceremony includes welcoming remarks from Supervisor Sylvia Virtuoso. The guest speaker is the Hon. James Faso Jr. of Veterans Court. The ceremony will also include prayers offered by the Rev. Ron Maines, Forestview Church of God; wreath presentations from the Lions, and Helping Hands.
We are honored to have Niagara Wheatfield High School student Morgan Giannantonio perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” with her trumpet.
All veterans attending will be presented with an American flag lapel pin and a small American flag. Following the ceremony, the Helping Hands will provide refreshments in the Calvin K. Richards Community Center.
Veterans, as well as the public, can attend the ceremony and join us in honoring our nation's veterans. For more information, follow the Town of Niagara Lions Club Facebook page or email Lion Mike Hoplight at [email protected].
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Calvin K. Richards Community Center.
