Buffalo Sabres Press Release

The Buffalo Sabres announced Buffalo Sabres Learn to Play, presented by D’Youville University, is partnering with Rasmus Dahlin and Alex Tuch, and their foundations The Rasmus Dahlin Foundation and The AT9 Foundation, as part of the new Captain’s Crew program.

Buffalo Sabres Learn to Play registration includes six weeks of on-ice instruction, head-to-toe hockey equipment and a ticket voucher to a 2024-25 Buffalo Sabres home game. Each Captain’s Crew enrollment will include everything that is included in the standard Learn to Play registration, an opportunity to participate in a skate with Dahlin and Tuch, and a Buffalo Sabres water bottle. $100 from each Captain’s Crew enrollment will be split evenly between the two foundations.

"Our foundation is focused on improving the lives of children in Buffalo, especially those who may not always have access to resources, and teaming up with the Sabres’ Learn to Play program is a great way to do that,” Dahlin said. “We’re not just helping kids get into hockey – we’re also promoting health, wellness, and giving them the chance to be part of a team. It’s all about making sure every child has opportunities to grow and feel supported."

"Giving back to the Buffalo community, especially to its children, is a core mission of The AT9 Foundation and something that’s deeply personal to me," Tuch said. "By partnering with the Sabres and their Learn to Play program, we have a unique opportunity to inspire the next generation, helping kids discover a love for hockey while also developing essential life skills like perseverance, leadership and teamwork."

Over 5,500 kids have participated in Buffalo Sabres Learn to Play programming at 13 local ice rinks in Buffalo and the surrounding area since 2016.
