Today, rising country star Ella Langley unveils a very special stripped-down track, “made it out of mexico (acoustic)”. The song arrives alongside a visualizer that features footage from Ella’s trips to Mexico for Casey Donahew's annual “Boots on the Beach” festival over the past two years. Co-written with Joybeth Taylor and Natalie Hemby, “made it out of mexico (acoustic)” is one of four additional tracks featured on the forthcoming deluxe version of her debut album, titled “still hungover,” releasing Nov. 1. “still hungover” builds and continues the story of Ella’s critically acclaimed debut record and is available to presave here. “I decided when I put out my first project that I wanted to end each project with acoustic tracks, right back where it all started, just me and a guitar. this is one of the oldest songs out of the 18, and one of my favorites,” Ella said. “Without further ado, here’s ’made it out of mexico.’ ”
“made it out of mexico (acoustic)” follows the release of fellow deluxe track “weren’t for the wind,” which just became Ella’s biggest solo song release to date with over 5 million streams in just a few weeks. The two remaining singles, “20-20” and “girl you’re taking home,” will round out the complete release of “still hungover.”
“hungover” initially arrived on Aug. 2 with 14 raw, fun and emotional tracks, including her hit song “you look like you love me” featuring Riley Green. The track is currently top 10 at country radio (plus No. 1 on SiriusXM The Highway’s top 30 countdown) and is climbing the Billboard Hot 100, currently sitting at No. 30. The duet has garnered over 186 million worldwide streams to date and was nominated at the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year and the People’s Choice Country Award for Collaboration Song of 2024.
