Press Release
The holiday season kicks off at the historic mansion at Knox Farm State Park where more than 70 artisans and craftspeople from across Western New York will be selling a wide variety of quality art and handcrafted merchandise. Hosted by the Friends of Knox Farm State Park, this popular annual event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2-3.
Holiday shoppers will find unique works of art ranging from stained glass, pottery, leather goods, and jewelry to handmade textiles, wood-turned items, photography and paintings. High-quality gifts can be found in a variety of price ranges – from candles and Buffalo-themed items to holiday décor. In addition, Kester Farms will bring live alpacas along with its alpaca-wear products for sale.
The annual holiday arts and crafts show is an exciting opportunity for the public to see the inside of the mansion and guest house, and this year is extra special because – with the help of a partnership grant from Parks & Trails NY and funding from Erie County – the Friends will be unveiling the recent renovation of the beautiful loggia (sunroom) at the front of the mansion.
Back by popular demand, the historic Knox Farm Guest House will be open for self-guided tours. Come check out this overnight rental property, lovingly and painstakingly renovated by the Friends of Knox Farm and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. Docents will be available to answer questions and provide rental information.
Admission to the Friends’ holiday arts and crafts show is $6 presale online or $7 cash at the door. Free parking will be provided at Moog, Inc., 7021 Seneca St., with a free, continuous shuttle from 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from food trucks outside the mansion, including the House of Munch, The Blend, and Yakisoba's Noodles and Teriyaki.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Knox Farm State Park for ongoing improvements at the mansion, guest house, stables and gardens.
Pets and strollers are not permitted inside the mansion or guest house, and the second floor of the mansion is not wheelchair accessible.
