Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Brian Wallace, age 37, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced to 20 years to life in State Prison this morning by County Court Judge John Ottaviano. Wallace previously plead guilty to murder in the second degree, admitting he killed 38-year-old Lauren Hayes in a motel room in Niagara Falls on Feb. 21, 2023.

“Ms. Hayes’ life came to a terrible and tragic end at the hands of this defendant in that hotel room. This crime is certainly deserving of the sentence handed down by the court,” Seaman said.

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney David DeChellis.
