Fantastic Friends of WNY to hold 6th annual special needs fashion show

Goal to raise acceptance of special needs individuals

Fantastic Friends of WNY will hold its sixth annual “Fantastic Friends Rock the Runway” fashion show, which includes a live and silent auction at 5 p.m. inside The Statler Buffalo (Golden Ballroom) on Saturday, Sept. 28.

A press release stated, “This is a unique, exciting and interactive event with the goal of educating the community while entertaining through fun and fashion. The evening provides an inspiring demonstration of special needs individual’s ‘abilities,’ as they model fashions on stage. It also raises funds for Fantastic Friends of WNY, an area nonprofit.”

This year’s event is titled “West Herr Cares Presents Rock the Runway.” West Herr Cares is the presenting sponsor; other sponsors include: United Healthcare; The Mosey Family Foundation; KeyBank; People, Inc.; MERJ Fleet Services; Roach, Lennon & Brown PLLC; Bank on Buffalo; Trusted Nurse Staffing; ECMC; and Tuxedo Junction.

Fantastic Friends’ very own Peter Colbey will return as live auctioneer. The press release noted, “Peter aspires to be a game show host, is autistic, and has a natural ability to engage audiences!”

Natalie Faas will serve as emcee and several elected officials will show their support.

Fantastic Friends of WNY is a volunteer-driven, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit for special needs individuals of all ages. The organization has grown from servicing 12 special needs individuals to hundreds in just a few years.
