Artpark & Company wrapped its 50th anniversary season on Saturday with a sold-out Mainstage Theater concert featuring Young the Giant and Cage the Elephant. Fans couldn’t have been happier with the “Neon Pill Tour” setlists, as they sang, danced in the aisles, and celebrated the end of the summer music schedule in Lewiston.
Young the Giant is an American rock band that formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. The band's lineup consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar) and Francois Comtois (drums). Formerly known as the Jakes, Young the Giant was signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009, and they released their eponymous debut album in 2010. The band's first three singles, "My Body," "Cough Syrup" and "Apartment," all charted on the U.S. alternative songs chart.
Cage the Elephant is an American rock band formed in 2006 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Members moved to England and settled in London in 2008, shortly before their self-titled first album was released. The lineup currently consists of Matt Shultz (vocals); his older brother, Brad Shultz (rhythm guitar); plus, Nick Bockrath (lead guitar), Matthan Minster (guitar, keyboards), Daniel Tichenor (bass) and Jared Champion (drums).
The band's first album was released to much success, spawning several successful radio singles and gaining the band a large following in both the U.S. and the U.K. It was influenced by classic rock, ’90s alternative, blues, punk rock and funk music.
