Proceeds from Yoga Fest at Terminal B to benefit Independent Health Foundation’s Fitness for Kids Challenge

Press Release

Yoga Fest, presented by Independent Health, will offer avid yogis and beginners a full slate of outdoor yoga classes, amid a picturesque waterfront backdrop at the Outer Harbor.

On Sept. 15 at Terminal B, local yoga instructors will lead a lineup of five classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will also feature health and wellness vendors, food trucks, live music and free giveaways from Independent Health.

A donation of $15 per person to benefit the Independent Health Foundation’s Fitness for Kids Challenge allows attendees to participate in all Yoga Fest classes and activities. Fitness for Kids collaborates with local schools to challenge every child to get daily exercise, proper rest and make good nutrition choices. Prizes are awarded year-round to participating schools, classrooms, teachers and students.

“Independent Health is committed to offering opportunities for Western New Yorkers to stay fit and healthy while enjoying the outdoors and all the area has to offer,” said Kathy Glieco, vice president, marketing at Independent Health. “As September marks National Yoga Awareness Month, we invite everyone to join us for some mindfulness, stretching and relaxation along the waterfront – all while supporting a great cause.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance here. Children ages 13 and under are free.

“Yoga Fest is a great opportunity to enjoy one of the final days of summer along our city’s beautiful waterfront,” said Lauren Ford, general manager, Buffalo Waterfront. “We’re looking forward to a fun day of fitness to cap off another great summer season at the Outer Harbor.”
