Written by Darci, Shane Henry and Maggie McClure (The Imaginaries), "Someone Wake Me Up" captures the longing for a genuine, old-school romance after experiencing lackluster relationships. With heartfelt lyrics that resonate with the desire for a love that keeps you up at night, this song is an anthem for anyone tired of modern dating woes.
People.com exclusively premiered a first listen to the track, noting that Darci is "on the hunt for a love interest actually worth pursuing in her relatable track."
This release follows Darci's debut single "Push Our Luck" (Feb. 5), which Darci performed during "America's Got Talent: Fantasy League" earlier this year. Darci will also appear in the upcoming biopic “Reagan,” set for release in theaters on Aug. 30, alongside David Henrie during the lifeguard scene.
"I’ve really been diving into my sound, and 'Someone Wake me Up' specifically leans more pop than the country vibe of 'Push our Luck!' " Darci shared. "I’m still experimenting when it comes to what I write and I’m excited to bring people with me as I do!"

More about Darci Lynne
Actor/singer/ventriloquist Darci Lynne was 12 years old when she paired her love of music with a male-dominated profession to hit the primetime stage and capture the hearts of audiences around the country on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” She would become the youngest contestant to ever win the million-dollar competition, garnering over 90 million views on “AGT’s” YouTube and the most votes for a final performance in the history of the show.
Darci’s 2017 win would be followed by her highly rated 2018 NBC Christmas special, “My Hometown Christmas,” featuring guests Toby Keith and Kristin Chenoweth (reaching over 9 million households), and a successful U.S. tour – all while juggling middle school. Her 50-stop 2018 tour generated more than 100,000 in ticket sales and grossed $5.2 million.
The young entertainer has been credited with charming America and changing the face and popularity of ventriloquism, turning the art form into a female-driven force thanks to her talent and social media influence (5 million TikTok followers, Facebook 2 million, Instagram 1.2 million, YouTube 1.16 million). Along the way, she has created an extreme fanbase for Petunia, Oscar, Edna, and Katie – the crazy cast of puppets she brings to life on stage.
During high school, Darci Lynne launched her “My Lips Are Sealed (Except When They’re Not) Tour!” featuring four of her original songs. Since her “AGT” win, she placed second in the “AGT” spin-off “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” headlined the Mirage in Las Vegas, sold out the Ryman twice, performed at the Grand Ole Opry multiple times, and co-starred in the 2022 feature film “A Cowgirl’s Song,” featuring one of her original songs “Just Breathe.”
Now 19, Darci has added producing to her resumé with the release of the official music video for “Push Our Luck” named Best Music Video 2024 by Los Angeles Film Awards. She debuted the song during her 2024 performance on “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.”
A one-woman variety show, Darci continues to masterfully balance fan-favorite puppet performances with solo spots and high-profile collaborations in music, film and television, all while creating unique multigenerational relatability that few can match. From “Today” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to Rockefeller Center, the Vegas Strip, the Grand Ole Opry, and interviews with PEOPLE, PARADE or Forbes, Darci handles the spotlight with grace, professionalism and excitement that transcends age. Armed with a loyal and ever-growing fanbase and an impressive collaborative network, she’s ready to dive in and jump-start another chapter in entertainment.
