Press Release
The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston will salute the 2024 Northwest Jazz Festival by hosting a special jazz service at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. The event is open to the public.
The nontraditional, family-friendly service will include a guest performance by Jazz artist Champian Fulton accompanied by the Bob Hull Quartet and will feature the poetry of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver.
Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Champian Fulton is recognized as the “most gifted pure Jazz singer of her generation” (Mark Stryker, the Detroit Free Press). A jazz pianist and vocalist for over 20 years, she has released 18 albums and has performed in more than 25 countries both in concert and on TV. She often performs in Europe, and frequently at the famous Birdland Jazz Club in New York City.
A meet and greet with Ms. Fulton, including CD offering, will follow the service.
The church is located at 505 Cayuga St. It is handicapped-accessible. Child care will be available for children ages 4 years and under. Parking is available on the street or in a large lot behind the church. The church and events are open to all.
