Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Martice D. Porter, age 22, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty in County Court to the crime of rape in the third degree. Porter admitted to having sexual intercourse with an underage female in 2023.

Seaman stated, “It is an unfortunate and regrettable thing when someone who is charged with upholding the law instead transgresses it. I hope that the defendant being held accountable will help the victim of this crime move forward. I do wish to commend the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office on the diligent and professional manner in which they carried out their investigation.”

The defendant returns to court Oct. 8 to be sentenced by County Court Judge John Ottaviano. Porter faces up to four years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
