Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Dominique L. Castile, age 36, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty this afternoon to charges of manslaughter in the first degree and assault in the second degree, in two separate stabbings. Castile admitted to stabbing 33-year-old Stefhon Hilson to death on Jan. 1, 2023, and also to stabbing another individual five days earlier, on Dec. 27, 2022. Castile faces up to 25 years in prison when he returns to court for sentencing on Oct. 18.

“This afternoon’s proceedings brings closure to Mr. Hilson’s family and removes a menace from the community,” Seaman said.

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney David DeChellis.
