Lower Niagara Moose Lodge 584 and the William (Bill) Kilmer Scholarship/Golf committees announced 2024 scholarship winners June 6 at the Lewiston-Porter High School Robert B. Russell Auditorium. Honored were Chloe DeMita and Dylan Weber, each awarded a $3,000 scholarship; and Matthew Long, who was awarded $1,500.
Funds for this scholarship are raised through the annual William (Bill) Kilmer Memorial Golf Tournament held in August. The late Bill Kilmer was a much-loved active member, lodge administrator and district treasurer of Moose International, who passed away in 2020.
The scholarships are awarded based on how applicants mirror or reflect Bill’s attributes of service to community and country, to include their career path, service activity, student essay and Moose affiliation.
