Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced 23-year-old Ryan M. Crawford of Buffalo was sentenced yesterday afternoon before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens to 25 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.
On Sunday, April 2, 2023, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the defendant shot the victim with an illegal handgun on the 800 block of Bailey Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 38-year-old Duryll Anderson, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where he later died from the injuries.
Crawford pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter in the first degree (class “B” violent felony) on May 20, 2024.
Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department homicide squad for its work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Justin H. Caldwell of the homicide bureau and Assistant District Attorney Briana R.D. Kalman of the narcotics/intelligence bureau.
