Submitted by the New York State Department of Transportation
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that State Route 429 – also known as Ward Road – will be closed in the vicinity of Sawyer Creek, just north of the intersection at U.S. Route 62, in the Town of Wheatfield, beginning Monday, July 8, to facilitate a culvert replacement. The closure is expected to remain in place for one month.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
