The Council for Older Adults (COA) in Niagara County invites residents over age 55 to enter the COA amateur art exhibit. This event includes original artwork in oil, watercolor, sketches, needlework, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture and woodworking. Each artist must be at least 55 years old and may submit up to five pieces of art.

A press release noted, “This is not a competition. There will be no judges, no prizes and no entry fee. This exhibit is also not an art sale, although artists are encouraged to include their name and phone number with their work if they are interested in selling it at a future date.”

Artwork will be on display from July 1-12 at the New York Power Authority’s Power Vista. The 2024 amateur art exhibit can be seen by the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. A small reception will be held for the participants, their families and friends, from noon until 2 p.m. July 12.

The press release added, “Framed or suitably mounted pieces are preferred, but not required, as long as the artwork can be displayed. All artwork and display items such as easels, frames, etc., must be labeled.”

For more information or a registration form, contact Heather Culverwell at 716-285-8224, ext. 215, or email [email protected].
