Erie County Department of Senior Services, Center for Elder Law & Justice announce Elder Law Day

Annual event provides seniors, families & caregivers with legal information, resources related to aging

The Erie County Department of Senior Services (ECDSS), in collaboration with the Center for Elder Law & Justice (CELJ), announced the return of the annual Elder Law Day event on Wednesday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara Marriott on Millersport Highway in Amherst.

This popular event is designed to provide seniors and their families with valuable information and resources on a variety of legal issues related to aging. Seniors seeking information on legal issues, caregivers and family members seeking resources and support, and legal and health care professionals who work with seniors are all encouraged to attend.

Elder Law Day 2024 events include:

√ Free legal consultations: Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free one-on-one consultations with experienced elder law attorneys.

√ Educational workshops: Various workshops will cover topics such as estate planning, wills and trusts, Medicaid planning, guardianship and more.

√ Resource fair: A variety of community organizations will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about services available to seniors.

√ Q&A sessions: Interactive sessions where attendees can ask specific questions and get expert advice on elder law issues.

Elder Law Day is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to ensure they can participate in their preferred workshops and consultations. Registration can be completed online at www.erie.gov/eld. For more information, call 716-858-8526.
