Press Release
Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum and Beau Fleuve Music & Arts have once again partnered to offer another highly anticipated and recording-breaking “Day of Play” for youth in the community from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
The goal of the partnership is to lift the financial paywall that may hinder prospective families from experiencing all that Explore & More has to offer. As part of the “Day of Play,” guests will enjoy “Pay What You Wish!” admission of $8, $10, or the regular $13 for adults and children ages 1 and up.
Over 900 children and adults visited Explore & More during last year’s “Day of Play,” with more than half attending for the very first time.
Beau Fleuve is taking a step further in 2024. Thanks to support from Buffalo Common Council Majority Leader Leah Halton-Pope, our presenting sponsor, 400 free admission tickets to be used July 14 will be available at select community centers on the east side and west side of the City of Buffalo. Each guest who redeems a free admission ticket will also receive a $5 food voucher to use that day at the Low Bridge Café, which is located on the museum’s first floor. Tickets will be distributed starting Saturday, June 1.
“One of our main goals this year was to not only provide a fun and accessible event for families to enjoy, but the opportunities to support hundreds of families through our community who might not frequent – or have ever been to – Explore & More,” said Lindsey L. Taylor, founder of Beau Fleuve Music & Arts. “This is an intentional effort to ensure our east and west side communities have access to Explore & More. Through our partnership, we want to assist with every aspect.”
Explore & More President and CEO Michelle Urbanczyk said, “We’re honored to work with Beau Fleuve again on this wonderful initiative. We want all parents and children to have the ability to experience the power of play at Explore & More and just enjoy a fun day out at Canalside. This partnership, which we’re extremely grateful for, extends that opportunity to so many families in our community who may not otherwise have the chance.”
Don't have a ride? No worries! The NFTA is also providing 100 day passes for transportation to help make it easier for families to visit the museum on July 14. These passes will be distributed through the select community centers.
In addition to all the immersive exhibits, creative arts, and music, the “Day of Play” will also welcome five youth entrepreneurs through Buffalo Kid Entrepreneurs.
Beau Fleuve’s “Day of Play” is thankful for additional support from district-elected officials Erie County Legislator Howard Johnson and Fillmore Council member Mitch Nowakowski.
