In collaboration with the Oliver Street Merchants and North Tonawanda City Hall, Niagara Pride is set to host a momentous Pride flag ceremony in North Tonawanda on May 31 at 1:30 p.m., marking the commencement of a month filled with celebratory events.

Determined to make North Tonawanda a warm and inviting place for the LGBTQ+ community, the Oliver Street Merchants, in partnership with Niagara Pride, conduct Pride flag-raising ceremonies both at City Hall and the Oliver Street Pride Fest, as part of their ongoing commitment of supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Cofounder and President of Niagara Pride Ronald Zenon Piaseczny said, “Niagara Pride is thrilled with its ongoing partnership with Oliver Street Merchant Association. When it comes to advocating for equality and making communities welcoming to minorities, like the LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, strong relationships with ally organizations is critical to make it a reality.”

The initiative remains strong and an important mission, as The Oliver Street Merchants are advocates for equality. The rainbow colors on the flag represent diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and spread awareness to all. The flag-raising ceremony, conducted in collaboration with Niagara Pride and City Hall, serves as a reverent homage to LGBTQ+ history, commemorating milestones achieved while acknowledging the journey ahead.

Please join us for the Oliver Street Merchant-Niagara Pride flag-raising in front of North Tonawanda City Hall (216 Payne Ave.) at 1:30 p.m., as we honor the spirit of Pride.
