United Way of Greater Niagara Press Release

The United Way of Greater Niagara is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of its "Battle of the Banks" fundraising event, held Wednesday at Brickyard Brewing Company in Lewiston. The event brought together local banks, community members and supporters in a spirited competition to raise funds for vital community youth programs.

The "Battle of the Banks" saw participation from four local branches of Northwest Bank, KeyBank, Impressia Bank and Niagara's Choice Federal Credit Union, each vying for the top spot in generating the highest amount in tips during each of their 45-minute bartending shifts. The event not only showcased the banks' competitive spirit, but also their unwavering commitment to supporting the Niagara community.

United Way of Greater Niagara President and CEO Andrea Gray said the event “was a testament to the incredible generosity and community spirit that defines our region. We are deeply grateful to al the participating banks, their employees, and everyone who came out to support us. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of our youth."

The event was attended by over 100 community members, who enjoyed music provided by Jeremy Mixon of DJ MXN at Mixon Music & Entertainment, and food provided by Brickyard Pub & BBQ. Through ticket sales, sponsorships and a basket raffle presented by Women United of Greater Niagara, the "Battle of the Banks" raised over $3,000, which will directly benefit the United Way's various youth-oriented initiatives.

Special congratulations go to Niagara's Choice Federal Credit Union, pictured, which emerged as the overall winner of the competition, demonstrating outstanding teamwork.

The United Way of Greater Niagara extends heartfelt thanks to our sponsors: Wittlin, Dry & Dry LLP, Planned Futures Financial Group LLC and The Radecke Group at Morgan Stanley; volunteers; and attendees who contributed to the event's success.
