Stella Niagara Center of Renewal Press Release

May 28 is the final preregistration deadline for Stella Niagara’s Center of Renewal energy centers (chakras) retreat day scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, with on-site check-in starting at 9 a.m. and the retreat from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All in the Western New York community are invited to sign-up to attend this unique retreat day featuring a topic drawn from the chakra system, which originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC, and can be thought of as our body’s subtle energy system.

Explore connections between body and spirit, personal and societal, in this insightful retreat day designed and presented by Sister Marcella Kiesel, OSF.

Where we place our energy is self-revealing on our spiritual path. Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means disk or wheel, referring to energy centers in the body. The focus is on the seven major energy centers, each of which has a unique meaning about our body, life, breath, mind, intellect, and overall sense of well-being.

Sister Marcella is a Franciscan Sister of Penance and Christian Charity, an international congregation. Her ministries have included registered nursing, college teaching, rural and urban work directly with the poor, teaching English to immigrants, and directing retreats throughout the U.S., Canada, and in Tanzania, East Africa. Sister Marcella presently resides in a hermitage on campus and is available for spiritual direction throughout the year at the Center of Renewal at Stella Niagara.

Additional retreats by Sr. Marcella are on Sept. 17 (suffering) plus an Advent weekend retreat Dec. 6-8.

Advance reservations are required by May 28. Call 716-754-7376, ext. 1 or ext. 2.

The Center of Renewal Retreat and Conference Center at Stella Niagara is located only two miles north of the Village of Lewiston and Artpark. They sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, Holy Name Province.
