Colton Dixon unveils new summer single, 'UP + UP'

Atlantic recording artist Colton Dixon has released a brand-new single, "UP+UP," available across all DSPs today and impacting radio on June 28. The perfect, upbeat sing-along song for summer, Dixon will perform the track live for the first time at the annual Christian Music Broadcasters MOMENTUM conference in Orlando on Thursday, May 30.

"Life is tough, but I believe God wants the best for us," Dixon shared about the song. "Though life doesn’t come without trials, I believe that God’s plan is to give us hope and a future – a plan that always says ‘up and up’ again.

"Musically I wanted to mirror the message of this song, which is this, 'Don’t let life knock you down, but put your hope in God and he will take you ‘up and up’ again.' "

In addition to just wrapping the successful spring 2024 "Love & Light Tour" with Jordan Feliz, most recently fans saw Dixon, along with Danny Gokey and Melinda Doolittle, perform a special tribute to their friend, Mandisa, on “American Idol.”

Dixon also released the title track for the feature film “SIGHT,” which comes to theaters Memorial Day weekend and stars Greg Kinnear and Terry Chen. The stunning music video for “Rest of My Life (From the Original Motion Picture SIGHT)," debuted on his YouTube page.

2023 was a landmark year for Dixon. He saw his massive No. 1 hit, “Build A Boat," receive nominations for both a K-LOVE Fan Award and GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year, released his bestselling seven-song “Canvas” EP featuring the top 10 single, “My Light”; performed on “FOX & Friends” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” gave a performance of the national anthem for the Kansas City Chiefs, and had his biggest touring year ever – hitting over 120 U.S. cities.

Dixon turns personal truths, stories and experiences into universal anthems. He first emerged as a phenomenon after finishing in the top seven on season 11 of “American Idol.” Delivering a series of fan-favorite albums, 2013’s “A Messenger” achieved the biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act, and catapulted into the Top 15 of the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Billboard Christian albums chart. He joined the iconic company of Harry Connick Jr. and Billy Joel as a Steinway & Sons artist.

A year later, “Anchor” yielded his third and fourth No. 1 hits on Christian Hot AC with “More of You” and “Through It All.” In 2017, he returned to No. 1 on the Christian albums chart for the third time. It stood out as the longest-running Mediabase Christian AC No. 1 song of 2022, and locked down No. 1 on the Billboard “Hot Christian Songs” chart and Christian AC airplay chart.

PEOPLE premiered the accompanying music video and hailed it as “inspiring” for its depiction of the work of medical charity Mercy Ships. Dixon captivated once again on his 2023 EP, “Canvas,” introduced by the top 10 single “My Light," as well as his 2023 Christmas single, "Home for Christmas." 2024 brings new music from Dixon, starting with his brand-new track, “Rest of My Life” being used as the closing song for the new Angel Studios film “SIGHT” and brand-new radio single, "Up+Up."
