Press Release

Get ready to set sail to Bikini Bottom as the Parish Players proudly present Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob the Musical,” a spectacular production co-conceived by Tina Landau and Kyle Jarrow.

Since its humble beginnings in 1991 at St. Stephen's Church, Parish Players has been dedicated to nurturing young talent, and this year is no exception. Continuing the legacy started by Elizabeth Beach, Parish Players is thrilled to bring “SpongeBob the Musical” to the stage at Grand Island High School at 6 p.m. May 4.

Directed by the dynamic trio of Caitlyn Kleinschmidt, Joey Cali and Alexandra Tirone – all seasoned performers themselves – this production promises to be a splashing success. Caitlyn, Joey and Alexandra, alumni of both Parish Players and Grand Island High School, have brought their passion and expertise to the table, ensuring a performance that will leave audiences in awe.

With a cast of 38 talented young performers from schools across the Island, including Kaegebein, Huth, Veronica Connor Middle School, and Grand Island High School, along with students from off Island schools, the stage is set for a whirlwind adventure under the sea. Leading the pack is Malcolm Hannibal as the lovable SpongeBob SquarePants, with Alejandro Perez shining bright as his best buddy, Patrick Star.

Prepare to be wowed by Jayden Kleinschmidt's toe-tapping portrayal of the grouchy, yet endearing Squidward, and be serenaded by the sensational vocals of Annabelle Linenfelser as Sandy, and Emma Daigle as Pearl. But the fun doesn't stop there! Hailey McMahon will have you in stitches as Patchy the Pirate, while Anthony Borzilleri brings the villainous Plankton to life with gusto.

Behind the scenes, artistic director Jenny Kleinschmidt, along with a dedicated team of parent and friend volunteers, has worked tirelessly to create a magical underwater world that will transport audiences to the heart of Bikini Bottom.

Don't miss your chance to experience the best day ever at “SpongeBob the Musical”! Tickets for an unforgettable journey under the sea are available at the door of the Grand Island High School Viking Theatre, 1100 Ransom Road.
